Quick Tips

Dreamweaver anchors can sometimes come in handy especially if you have a long web page and you want your users to be able to go to specific parts of it without having to scroll up or down. How do you make an anchor? It is actually so easy you can do it in a minute.

1. Point the cursor to where you want to put the anchor in.
2. Click on INSERT, and then choose NAMED ANCHOR. You can also just click on the anchor icon right below INSERT as this makes the whole thing much faster.
3. When a box pops up, you can now type in the word or phrase for your anchor (ex. the name would be PHONE SPECIFICATIONS). Click on OK.
4. After you do so, a small anchor icon will appear; you can double click on it if you want to edit your anchor.
5. Now to create a link to your anchor, all you have to do is add the # sign before the name of the anchor. It should look like this #PHONE SPECIFICATIONS. Another way to do it is to simply highlight the text link, find the Point to File button which is located at the base of the Dreamweaver workspace, click on it and drag it to the anchor you made.

Now you have created an anchor link!
