Flash Rollover

Here’s how to create a Flash Rollover Text in Dreamweaver CS3:

1.      Design/create a new html document. This is where your creativity comes in. You have to design the page and decide what is going to be in it. Whether you make one that’s simple or complicated is up to you.

2.      After saving the html document, scroll up to the top of the screen and select Insert from the tool bars. You would then have to choose Media from the menu and click on the Flash Text option.

3.      A tool bar will then appear. This would let you configure the text that you want to insert.

    • Customize the font style, size, and colour for the text.
    • Then you would have to select an original colour for the text and a rollover colour. When the pointer/cursor passes over the text, its colour will be changed over to the selected rollover colour. The key here is to find the right colour combination. Be careful with colours you choose so that it would not be irritating to the eyes once it changes upon a rollover.
    • Once you are done with settings for the colours, set up the Link. Click on the Browse button for you to find the page you want to load.
    • Next would be for you to choose a target to where the page should load.
    • If you have a little bit more time to spare, you can customize the background colour for the text. Again, the key here is colour combination.

4.      Finally, use the Browse button to choose a path for you to save the flash files using extension .swf.

5.      After saving the flash file (the rollover text you have created), select OK and you will be able to see your newly customized flash text rollover object.
