Creating Links for Dreamweaver CS3

Links or hyperlinks enable you to connect a web page that is not in the server you are using. Meaning, it is an external page. Creating one is very easy. Here are some instructions to help you get things done with your links.

1.       First, visit the page that you would want to make a link/hyperlink to.

2.       Next, click the URL (Universal Resource Locator) in the address or location bar. Then, click and highlight the whole URL and then copy it. Do not try to type a URL, even the simplest ones like http://www.yahoo.com. This is done to prevent any keystroke errors that could make your link malfunction or not work at all.

3.       Return to the page you were working on in Dreamweaver and choose the image or text which will be used for the hyperlink.

4.       Having selected the text or image, paste the URL into the Link portion of the properties window. You can also create Links through the Menu bar. All you have to do is click on Insert and then Hyperlink. A window will then open where you can paste the address in.

Now you have created a Link to your page.
