Reflection effect

Open a new document from the File menu at the top selecting New. Now with the new document open, go to Edit and choose Fill.

In the Fill dialog box, you will see Contents which will have Use option. You can select black or any other dark colour from the list of options next to Use. Click Ok when you are done.

Select Type tool and go to the Options Bar to choose the font style.

From the Swatches palette, located between the colour and Styles palette, choose any colour. This will be the colour of your text.

Now click inside the document and type your text. Now checkmark in the options bar to accept the text. To resize your text now, go to Edit menu and choose free transform.

With the free transform box and handles around the text, hold the shift key and click any of the four corner handles and drag outwards to make the text bigger.

Before starting to work on it any further, duplicate your layer by pressing Ctrl + j,

Go to the Edit menu again and choose transform and then select Flip Vertical.

The copied text layer will appear upside down in front of the original layer. Now, using the Move tool, drag the copied text below the original. Hold the Shift key while you drag as you will not want to move the text either left or right; it should drag straight down.

From the copied layer still selected, click on Layer Mask icon at the bottom of the layers Palette.

We need to make this upside down text fade away as it goes from top to bottom. For this we need to draw black to white gradient on layer mask. From tools palette, select gradient tool.

With the option bar of gradient tool, select the gradient preview area, which you need to click on. From the gradient editor, select the black to white gradient and not the coloured ones. Click Ok and exit the box.

With the layer mask selected, draw a vertical gradient by clicking inside the document towards the bottom and then by holding the Shift key, dragging to the point where this text meets the original. Once you release the mouse, you will see that upside down text fades away as you go towards the bottom. You have made these changes to the layer mask and can see it in the preview thumbnail in the Layer's palette. You can reduce the Opacity of the layer so the reflection looks more faded.
