Brushed metal texture
Go to File and click on New. Create a new Photoshop document by selecting width and height pixel dimensions as per your requirement. Then create a new layer from Layers palette.
Click on Edit at the top of the window and select the Fill option and on the Fill options select 50 % grey from the dropdown of Use.
Then, go to Filter and select Noise. From the sub menu, choose Add noise.
When the add noise window opens up, type the Amount as 20%. If you type a higher amount, it will give a coarser grain and a typing a lower amount will give a soft and subtle effect. Uniform distribution should be selected and make sure to check inside the Monochromatic box. Then, click Ok on the top right corner of the window and exit out.
Now, click Filter and choose Blur option. Select motion blur:
and make these changes; set angle to 45 degrees, and Distance up to 20 pixels:
Again go to Filter and select Render, then choose lighting effects:
Here, change light type settings to Omni, Intensity to 21, Gloss to 100, Material to 100, Exposure to 0 and Ambience 10. Click ok and your brushed metal texture should be ready.
You can keep experimenting with these steps and all the settings, to get the desired result you want.
